Two bodies were located on July 8, 1979 in Mendocino County, California.
The remains of the two children were found together in the area of milepost marker 21 on Highway 20, West of Willits, California in Mendocino County. The two were believed to have been related initially. However, after forensic DNA testing, it was determined they were not maternally related. This could mean that they were boyfriend and girlfriend or possibly step-siblings. Authorities believe the two may be from the Midwest and were likely hitchhiking to get away from their families.
